About this watch

The Quintessential Rolex

 

The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date was the first self-winding, waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display, in addition to the date, the day of the week spelt out in full, in a separate window. Worn by a host of influential figures across the world since its debut in 1956, the Day-Date is perhaps the quintessential Rolex design.

This special edition of the Day-Date 36 timepiece has a unique provenance, being a gift from the Sultan of Oman to a British special forces officer who assisted in training Omani military personnel. The caseback is engraved with the Omani national emblem, the Khanjar Wa Sayfain, a traditional curved dagger flanked by a pair of crossed swords.

Accompanied by official papers and extra provenance including photographs of the officer and the late Sultan of Oman, this watch is a unique timepiece. Crafted from 18ct yellow gold and ringed by a bezel set with diamonds matching the diamond-set hour markers, this watch presents a luxurious, limited edition take on the classic Day-Date aesthetic.

Two-years international guarantee
Delivered at the time of sale, the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned guarantee card officially confirms that the watch is genuine on the date of purchase and guarantees its proper functioning for a period of two years from this date.
