History of OMEGA

OMEGA was first established in 1848 by watchmaker Louis Brandt, opening a small factory in the Swiss village La Chaux-de-Fonds. Brandt was driven by accuracy and was intent on developing the highest quality watches he could. Brandt’s reputation soon spread across Europe and has made OMEGA into the successful brand it is today. However, it was not until 1894 that OMEGA was born. Brandt then went into business with his brother, creating one of OMEGA’s most famous pieces – the 19-ligne Calibre. Bolstering their reputation, the watch was precise, detailed and ground-breaking. The brothers crowned their new achievement “OMEGA”, a name that has stuck to this day.

Why buy an OMEGA Watch

OMEGA watches are famous for both function and form. If you want a watch that you can rely on during sporting events, OMEGA is the brand for you. Collections such as the Seamaster are renowned for their resilience in harsh conditions. Water-resistant up to 300 meters and achieving the highest of industry standards, it is favoured by swimmers and divers.

OMEGA Collections

Our collection of OMEGA watches for men showcases the best of the brand’s design and functionality. We stock the most recognised OMEGA men’s watches, like the Seamaster Diver and the Speedmaster, while also offering more sophisticated collections such as the De Ville Prestige. One of the most notable OMEGA watches for sale in our collection is the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch First Watch On The Moon Certified By NASA. As suggested in the name, this watch has been a part of all six lunar missions. Here at Goldsmiths, we wanted to stock this watch as it pays homage to OMEGA’s adventurous and pioneering spirit. Our collection wouldn’t be right without it.

Another iconic men’s OMEGA watch is the Seamaster Diver 300m James Bond 007 2020 Edition. Whether you are a James Bond fan or not, this classic is a stunning piece of craftsmanship. Identical to the one seen in No Time to Die, the Seamaster alludes to charm, sophistication, and style. What’s more, it is water-resistant up to 300 metres, for those moments of daring adventure.

Our selection of ladies’ OMEGA watches combine elegance, style, and sophistication. As well as having impeccable functionality, it is the exquisite design of these watches that set them apart from the rest.

One of our most prominent styles is the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Co-Axial Master Chronometer 34mm Ladies Watch. OMEGA’s stunning Seamaster is styled in steel, gold, and a polished bezel with nude wave-embossed dial. All finished with hour markers made of precious stones. This watch is one of OMEGA’s most lavish designs, ensuring its wearer feels stunning with every use.
