Description

The Nautilus is without question one of the great horological icons of the 1970s, and has in recent years once again become one of the most in-demand timepiece models on the planet.

Collectors and prospectors alike are clamoring to get their hands on Genta's second great luxury sports watch, and with the recent news of the discontinuation of their current-collection steel, time-and-date model — the legendary Reference 5711 — this dramatic rise shows no signs of slowing down.

Interestingly, most demand for Nautilus models is centered around non-complicated models, something we can't fully wrap our heads around...

This particular Nautilus, a Reference 3712/1A from the the 2000s, comes in with a 42mm stainless steel case with a matching integrated bracelet and signed clasp, a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, and a brushed bezel with polished bevels. Inside, it features a gorgeous blue gradient 'teak' dial with applied luminous indices, a power reserve indicator, a moonphase aperture with date indicator, a small seconds register, and Patek Philippe's automatic winding Calibre 240 PS IRM C LU movement beating away within.

The Nautilus has become a true piece of horological history; an icon of icons; and must be experienced to be understood!
