Five ways to style jewellery and luxury watches this season
This season, we’re seeing a lot of trends that encourage pairing up your luxury watches and your jewellery. Before, minimalist was best, and it was usually a case of choosing to wear just one in the day, or at night. If you wanted to try wearing both and discovering your own personal style when it comes to accessorising, we have five tips on how to style your jewellery and luxury watches this season.
Tonal dressing has become a key trend for 2019, so it doesn’t surprise that it’s filtered into the accessory world. Tonal dressing is simply where you pick one colour, and then wear pieces that are all in a similar shade of that colour. Right down to the shoes, the handbags, and of course, the jewellery! If you are choosing nudes, rich jewel tones, or greens, then gold or rose gold jewellery would look fantastic. For cooler tones, like blues, purples or pinks, then all silver accessories would be extremely complimentary.
Mix and match
If tonal isn’t something you’d like to try, you can mix and match your colours, and your metals. Choose rose gold to combine with white gold, or even contrasting fabrics like stainless steel and silk. There are endless opportunities when you mix and match, meaning no two looks will ever be the same. It’s fantastic for when you feel you need statement accessories and works well on both men’s and women’s pieces.
Blend casual and formal
Often, stainless steel watches are the sportier, more athletic options than their fabric or leather counterparts. This doesn’t mean they need to be exclusively worn on casual occasions, or with casual outfits. You can mix your formalwear with more casual pieces, or even vice versa and dress up a casual ensemble with diamond jewellery or diamond dialled timepieces.
Layer your pieces
Layering is such a huge trend for 2019, and it isn’t just reserved for clothing. Layering up jewellery pieces and timepieces is a great way to add interest to an outfit, and really express your individual look and style. Layer thinner chains with chunkier watches, or delicate diamond timepieces with acrylic jewellery, and more. Much like mixing your colours, adding layers of jewellery is entirely down to you.
Match with a loved one
Watch brands often do his and her versions of their most iconic timepieces, and so matching with a loved one has never been easier. You can buy the same timepiece in different dial sizes, depending on your preference for the shape and silhouette, or you can choose something different but from the same brand, so if you have slightly different tastes in timepieces, you are still catered for.
